Sundays

Sunday morning services are open to everyone; the style of the service is a mixture of traditional hymns & modern songs with times of prayer, news and Bible teaching.

During the service we have a fully staffed crèche for under 3 year olds and normally a Junior Church for 3 to 17 year olds so that they have age appropriate teaching - see the Youth pages for more details.. On the first Sunday of the month, however, we have an all-age service where we can celebrate and learn together.

We really believe that it is possible to meet with God in worship and we hope that if whoever comes in can as well. We meet at 10:45 am - all are welcome to join us.

Bible Teaching

Salem Baptist believes that as a community we should aim to make and become missionary disciples of Jesus. On a Sunday morning this is focused through the Bible teaching which aims to transform people by the renewing their hearts and minds.

Bible teaching needs to be age appropriate and as such Salem has different teaching for different ages. In the main service, aimed at adults, the sermon seeks to be thought-provoking and culturally relevant. Junior Church, for 3 to 17 year olds, is structured to encourage conversation and be memorable.

Communion

Communion will normally form part of the service on the third (3rd) sunday of the month.

Anyone is welcome to receive communion, as long as they have made a personal decision to follow Jesus. No-one is pressured to take Communion, it is entirely voluntary.

Disability Access

The church building is accessible for those with disabilities and has a hearing loop system for those who require. Worship songs are displayed on a screen at the front or in print form on request.
